How to chop or extract a chapter from a pdf book?

On many occasion you might want to share a particular chapter of a book with your friends rather than the entire book. Well if that is so, how would you do that? This tutorial will explain the steps to accomplish this. To do so, you must have the software Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional (A PDF writer + reader)

Open up the PDF file (Book) of which you want to extract a chapter from. In our example it would be chapter 16 namely Using Regression to Track Trends and Make Forecasts from the great book Formulas & Functions with Microsoft Office 2007.

Please follow the steps.

Step 1: Open the file with Acrobat professional.

Step 2: Identify the chapter you want to extract

Step 3: Go to the first page of the chapter in order to identify the page number, in our case it would be 402 instead of 385.

Step 4: From the toolbar go to document>>Delete Pages

Step 5: A small window will pop up where you insert your number, then press OK.

Step 6: Repeat 4 & 5 to get the delete from chapter 17 (I guess you are not that dumb to do that so I am skipping the details).

Step 7: Save the change.

CAUTION: DO NOT FORGET TO KEEP A BACK UP OF YOUR ORIGINAL BOOK.

Hope you have enjoyed. Please leave your comment.
